Gaze-Informed LBS

Gaze-Informed Location-Based Services (GAIN-LBS) combine both, the user’s location and gaze context, for providing adapted and personalized assistance to a mobile user.

For instance, a GAIN-LBS could adapt its instructions based on the landmarks a wayfinder is currently looking at, or based on the wayfinder’s cognitive state, such as confusion or cognitive load, partially derived through eye movement measures. Another example domain is tourism, where the information delivered through an audio guide can be adapted based on the user’s interest, inferred from gaze.
